My Vision: A Biblical View of My Mission

If I were to picture where I was at ten years from now this is where I would be…I see myself as a children’s pastor at a church in a thriving ministry telling the kids of the community that I am in about Christ. The different ministries that I would have is Sunday morning service, which is focused on whatever curriculum that I have planned to tell the kids about Christ. I would love to have an AWANA ministry wherever I am at for the kids on Wednesday if the church that I am at has some sort of Wednesday night service. Another goal that I have as a children’s pastor is to also have Metro Kidz ministry at whatever church that I am at. Metro Kidz is a sidewalk Bible school for either Hispanic neighbors or any neighborhood that needs to hear about Jesus. It was a ministry that I was involved in at my church back at home and I absolutely loved it, but the site that I worked at we stopped doing ministry there. It has always been a dream of mine to lead a Metro Kidz of my own. Another vision that I have is to be able to have a great VBS for the kids that they can really enjoy.

I also want to be able to have a safe place that the kids will be able to be comfortable in and just have community with one another. All the kids will feel welcome in this space that they are in will be able to come to get away from the cares of the world and their focus will be on Christ and where they can learn more about Him and just have fun. In Psalm 46:1-2 it says that “God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is.” Just like those verses say that is exactly what I want our kids to learn in my ministry and the environment that I want to be able to create for our kids.

Not only do I want our kids to feel comfortable, but our parents need to feel comfortable dropping off their children in an environment that is safe. Then from that the parents can then learn from their kids more about Christ because of what they learned in church. It is actually truly amazing what a child can teach you because of all of the things that they absorb from the environment. From there the parents can hopefully create that exact same environment that we have here at the church. If that kind of environment is not happening at home, then we will come along side our parents and help them create that environment for them. The family will be stronger than ever because they are all growing together and in Christ and creating a community amongst one another that will never be broken. Then all of the families that make up our ministry will be able to form a community with one another and forming a stronger bond as a group as a whole.

The Point/Summary

My vision is to be have a space where the kids in my ministry can be safe and our parents feel comfortable dropping them off there as well as coming alongside our parents to be able to keep that space going at home and forming a community that can really impact those around us.
