I believe that my primary professional occupation in life is to become a children’s pastor. I have known since I was even a little kid myself that I was going to be a pastor. One day I looked up at one of the pastors of one of the old churches that I went to with my parents and told him that one day I was going to be just like him. I did not start doing children’s ministry till I was about twelve years’ old and it was from that point on that I knew that this was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Why do I feel this way you ask? It is because I love doing this and I feel like this is the calling that God has for my life. The more I do in children’s ministry and the more growth that I have in this I feel like I am built for this. I have done such a wide range of ministry that the more experience that I get the more excited I get for doing this sort of thing for myself. I love seeing the joy in the children’s eyes as they are having fun in an environment. I love seeing the children make a connection and them light up when it all makes sense for them when they learn something new about Christ. I love their child-like faith and how much eagerness that they have to tell other about Jesus. It also great to get a child this early on to be so strong in their faith. The reason for that being the fact that children are so open at the stage of life and if you do not get them when they are young then it will be so much harder to keep their focus on Christ. That is why I want to be a children’s pastor because I love children and if I can plant a seed this early then Christ can do so much for them in their lives early to prepare them for what He has in store for them in the future.
My mission to become a children’s pastor relates to my calling because it is through these kids that I can be a light to everyone that I come in contact in this ministry. Not only will I come in contact with the kids, but their parents and then I can help make an impact in the lives of every parent I came in contact with. Also if these children have older siblings then I can make an impact their lives as well. If I can touch the hearts of the kids in church, then they can take that a spread that to their families. If it spreads to their families, then that can spread out to their community that they are a part of. It is just one huge chain reaction that can be used to be an example to those that I come in contact with and from there they can pass it on to those that they come in contact with.
The Point/Summary
My mission that I feel that I have been called to is to be a children’s pastor and teach kids about Christ and through that be a light to all of those that I come in contact with through that ministry.
