If I were to sit down and really think about who I am as a Christian man that wants to be a children’s pastor, then these are the values that I would say have… first off is that my faith is very strong. I know what I believe and know what I stand my life on. I stand my life on the fact that Jesus is the Lord of my life and that He died on the cross for my sins. I have been provided grace in my life for the reason that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for me. Paul says in Galatians 2:20 that “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” If it was not for my faith, I would not be who I am today as well as I would not be where I am today as well. So I can say that without a doubt that my faith has shaped me into the person that I am today because I do not know where I would be right now without it.
Another value that is very important to me is integrity. C.S. Lewis tells us that “integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Now to me when you have integrity it is not just about doing the right thing when no one is around. It is also referring to being a person of your word. If you say that you are going to be somewhere or you do something for someone then actually do it. Be true to who you are and that will show others who you really are. Doing the right thing and being the better person and showing the world what it truly means to be a Christian is a part of having integrity. What people need today is people who are true to who they are and not flaky or fake to everyone around them. Being transparent, loving, and caring for others is what people truly need because then they will open up and that is when you can really help someone. Proverbs 21:3 says, “To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”
My faith and my integrity has made me who I am today and shaped the person that I have become. The faith that I have helps me to love other people and share the love of Christ to everyone around me. It helps me to be able to make an impact on the world and help those that truly need it because who I have become. As I continue to have integrity in my life, it helps me to be able to show others what it actually means to be a Christian. I can be an example to others and can see that I am a true man of God.
The Point/Summary
Faith and integrity are two values that I live my life by and has helped me to become the person that I am today.
